Man electrocuted mowing lawn

A 29-YEAR-OLD man from Chinhoyi has been electrocuted while mowing his lawn.

Samson Tafadzwa Chafanza was pronounced dead by electrocution at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital where his family had taken him after the incident which happened at 7am on Thursday last week at Mapako low-density suburb. 

Acting provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Ian Kohwera, said Chafanza switched on his lawn mower, then touched a bare wire resulting in his electrocution. 

“There were no physical injuries on the deceased,” he said. 

His body was taken to the hospital’s mortuary for post mortem. 

“As police, this is a sad incident that we don’t expect to see happening in our communities. We encourage people using electric gadgets to have them checked by specialists to avoid unnecessary loss of life,” said Asst Insp Kohwera.
