Maphosa also requested for a peace order against the police saying they promised to come back to kill him.
He also requested to be given State papers before trial begins.
The magistrate instructed the prosecutor, Mr Goodluck Katenaire to investigate the allegations and to furnish Maphosa with the papers.
Maphosa was denied bail and remanded in custody to 17 January for the start of his trial.
The State alleges that between May and December last year, Maphosa and his alleged accomplices unlawfully entered people’s premises and robbed them of different kinds of property.
On the first count on 1 June, Maphosa, in the company of Gift Mwale and Thulani Masina, who are both still at large, hatched a plan to go and rob Ms Sibonile Ndlovu, a teacher at Lydeard Primary School in Matopo.
They laid an ambush near Ms Ndlovu’s cottage at about 8pm and pounced on her as she came out of the house and forced her back inside.
While inside, the court heard that Maphosa drew a knife they had allegedly stolen from Glenmore Farm on the previous day and demanded money.
The trio went away with a Nokia cellphone valued at $20, $2 cash and five pula.
The court heard that another teacher, Mr Phindani Khuphe heard noise and went to check what was happening and was also allegedly robbed.
Maphosa, Mwale and Masina allegedly pounced on him and force-marched him to his house at knifepoint demanding money.
They allegedly took away two Nokia cellphones, car keys, an ignition system and $279 cash before disappearing into the darkness.
On the third count, the suspects who had allegedly been joined by Best Ncube and one identified as Bhekimpilo, who are still at large, allegedly went to Siyabonga Farm in
Matopo on 24 June armed with knives and screwdrivers and threatened Mr Kenneth James Jerrand demanding cash.
The court heard that they force-marched him to the sitting room where his wife was and allegedly tied him to a lounge suite using shoelaces.
The suspects allegedly used a screw driver to force open a cupboard and stole about $1 300 before ransacking the house where they stole a digital camera, two diamond rings, a wrist watch and car keys.
The total value of stolen property is $2 000 and 2 000 rand.
On 5 July at about 8.30pm, the suspects armed themselves with knives, a pair of pliers and screwdriver and went to Anglesea Farm.
On arrival, Maphosa allegedly cut the fence surrounding the farmhouse using the pair of pliers to gain entry.
A Mrs Joan Dodmun emerged from the house and when she saw four people near the storerooms, she panicked and collapsed.
Maphosa allegedly pounced on the farm supervisor, Mr Jacob Mhlanga and tied his hands to the back using shoelaces and forced him to lie down.
Another occupant came out to check and was allegedly attacked by Mwale and they tied his hands and legs using shoelaces.
Maphosa and his alleged accomplices then allegedly force-marched the two to the farmhouse where they ransacked the house in search of valuables. They allegedly used a screwdriver and hammer to force open a gun cabinet and stole 22 mm and 303 rifles, cash and jewellery.
The value of stolen property was $900, 500 rand and the two rifles were valued at $600.
While still at the scene they allegedly stole a Nokia cellphone valued at $45 from Mr Mhlanga.
Maphosa, Mwale, Ncube and Bhekimpilo, who were now armed with a rifle, allegedly pounced on the farm manager, Mr Delport Bernudus and stole four firearms, a cellphone, and cash totalling to $700 and 2 000 rand.
The court heard that they force-marched the three complainants and locked them in a bathroom and left the scene.
They dumped the firearms about 30 metres away from the farmhouse.
The court was told that Maphosa and his alleged accomplices, together with another person identified as Zenzo, went to Banavallum Farm in Figtree on 13 August at about 7pm.
They allegedly cut the fence to the farm where Mr Michael Warman Connolly and other occupants were and went inside leaving Zenzo on guard because the occupants knew him.
They allegedly ordered the occupants to lie down and tied them with shoelaces before ransacking the house.
They left with $13 739.
On the eighth count, the court heard that on 25 October, Maphosa, Ncube and Bhekimpilo went to Lot 131 Eltham Park in Matopo and allegedly forced open the farmhouse door using a screwdriver.
The complainant, Mr Andrew John Earke was not in the house and when he entered Maphosa allegedly grabbed him from behind.
The suspects allegedly force-marched him into the house where they tied him up with a string and threatened to shoot him if he did not give them money.
He gave them keys to the money safe and they stole $1 700, 1 500 pula, a digital camera, charger, shoes and clothes.
The value of the stolen property was $5 925.
On the first count of housebreaking and theft, Maphosa in the company of Mwale and Masina went to Glenmore Farm in Mangwe where they allegedly broke into Mr Ernest James Rosenfels’ house using an iron bar.
They allegedly stole different kinds of property valued at $369 and boarded a bus to Bulawayo.
The court heard that they were intercepted at Figtree but fled from the police.
On the other count, Maphosa appeared alongside Nkosinomusa Dube (28), of 9138 Cowdray Park.
They are accused of breaking into Savemor Supermarket at Woza Woza Shopping Centre in Emakhandeni and stealing groceries with a combined value of $1 200.
This was after they allegedly tied up the security guard with shoelaces and shoved him into a parked kombi.
The two were arrested on 26 December after investigations and their fingerprints matched those lifted from the scene.
