A MAN from Dzivarasekwa suburb in Harare has appeared in court facing a raft of serious charges, including kidnapping, rape, robbery and attempted murder.

Godknows Wilson Zeka (30), who is represented by Mr Kudakwashe Munyoro, appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mrs Jesse Kufa yesterday facing charges of robbery, attempted murder and kidnapping.

He was advised to apply for bail at the High Court and was remanded in custody to June 30.

Prosecutor Mr Zvikomborero Mupasa alleged that Zeka forcibly entered the complainant’s home where he assaulted Mr Aaron Hwari with a wooden plank before stealing two cellphones.

The court heard that Zeka allegedly raped Mr Hwari’s wife in his presence before taking her to an unknown destination.

Her whereabouts are still unknown.

In a separate case, Zeka appeared before Harare magistrate Ms Ruth Moyo facing four counts of robbery, four counts of assault and four counts of theft.

The State alleges that he attacked several victims in different parts of Harare and stole various valuables.

He was remanded in custody pending the determination of his bail application.
