FORGING a Veterinary Services Department livestock movement permit landed a Mutasa man in trouble after he was arrested at a police roadblock.Aaron Mutsingo (27) of Chipupuri Village, Chief Mutasa was convicted on his own guilty plea for forging information on a veterinary permit he had acquired to move one beast and altered it to two.
He was expected to be sentenced on Wednesday, but Nyanga provincial magistrate, Mr Ignatio Mhene was still to deliver the sentence at the time of going to Press.
Mutsingo said he altered the information as a way of cutting on the costs needed to clear the other beast.
It was the State’s case on May 20, Mutsingo obtained a vet permit to move one beast from Mutasa to Honde Valley.
He then altered the permit by erasing where it was written one to read two.
“The accused was asked by police officers from ZRP Ruda Police Station who were manning a roadblock at Mandeya Turn-off to produce the vet permit for the two beast.
“It was discovered that he had altered the figures on the vet permit leading to his arrest,” said Mr Kelvin Mufute who was prosecuting.
