Malvern Jena Makuve (28) was found dead in his car with a bullet wound on the right side of the shoulder near the 46km peg along the Mutare-Masvingo Highway on Saturday morning.
Makuve was on his way to the Chimanimani Arts Festival and it is suspected that he might have given a lift to some ladies, where his friends awaited him.
Sources close to the investigations said they found two unused condoms, a cloth with smelly stuff and semen on his body while the zip on his trousers was open.

“A bandage suspected to have been sprinkled with an unknown chemical was also discovered in the vehicle,” a police source said.
Makuve was found lying in the vehicle, leaning on the passenger seat, with car keys tucked in his waist belt.
Passers-by saw Makuve’s car, a red BMW, after it veered off the road and hit a tree and thought it was an accident.

“We suspect that he hit the tree, while struggling with his assailants.”
Passers-by informed the police who later discovered that Makuve had been murdered and also robbed of his shoes, cellphone and wallet.

No arrests have been made and investigations are still in progress.
Makuve’s body was taken to Mutare General Hospital for a post mortem.
