Man gunned down in Chiredzi

POLICE are investigating a case in which a 23-year-old man was shot dead by an unknown assailant in unclear circumstances in Mkwasine, Chiredzi.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “Police in Mkwasine are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a case of murder in which Webster Dzingo, aged 23, was shot dead with an unknown firearm by an unknown suspect at UB 93, Admin on November 5, 2025.

“Anyone with information that might assist with investigations should report at the nearest police station.”

Meanwhile, police in Nyanyadzi are investigating a case of murder which occurred on November 5, 2025, at Gadzai Village, Birchenough Bridge, Buhera.

The suspect, Luckson Muchadeyi (42) killed his wife, Prisca Mabuyazve (33), by striking her on the head and neck with an axe after accusing her of infidelity.

The suspect then committed suicide by drinking rat poison. In Norton, police arrested Lionel Simbarashe for a case of murder which occurred on November 5, 2025, near a bar at Kingsdale Shopping Centre. The suspect allegedly strangled his wife, Angela Malison, with a jacket after a misunderstanding.

The victim was found dead near a railway line with the jacket wrapped around her neck. In another case, police in Mutorashanga are investigating a case of murder in which a yet-to-be-identified man was found dead with a deformed head on November 5, 2025, beside a dust road linking Mutorashanga residential area and ZIMASCO mining shafts.
