A 57-YEAR-OLD man from Cowdray Park suburb in Bulawayo appeared at the Western Commonage magistrates’ court facing allegations of threatening to kill his ex-wife.

Innocent Banda appeared before magistrate Archie Wochiwunga facing one charge of threats of violence as defined in Section 186 (1) (2) of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9:23.

He was not asked to plead, and the matter was remanded to March 25, 2025.

Allegations are that on September 24, 2024, in Cowdray Park, Banda went to his ex-wife Juliet Mpofu’s residence asking why she had sent their daughter to stay in South Africa without his consent.

It was heard that the accused then threatened to kill the complainant while holding an axe. The matter was reported to the police, leading to the arrest of the accused.
