Man jailed for attacking his ex-wife for remarrying

A 52-YEAR-OLD man who could not stomach seeing his ex-wife remarrying struck her with a stick, tripped her and inserted needles in her chest.

For the attack, Dominic Ncube was sentenced to six years in prison by the Hwange Magistrates’ Court.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe said on 18 October 2023 Ncube confronted the complainant while she was working in her field and registered his displeasure with her decision to remarry.

“A misunderstanding arose between the two and Ncube struck his ex-wife with a stick twice on the back. He tripped her and when she fell to the ground he took out two needles from his pocket which he inserted in her chest and abdomen and ran away. The complainant was rescued by her husband who took her to the Police Station to file a Police report before she was taken to the hospital.”

“Ncube was convicted and sentenced to 6 years imprisonment of which 2 years were suspended. He will serve 4 years effectively,” said NPAZ
