Man kidnaps wife’s boyfriend

Court Reporter
A 24-year-old Chitungwiza man yesterday appeared in court for severely assaulting and kidnapping his wife’s 31-year-old boyfriend.
Tawanda Njengezana of Zengeza 3 admitted to assaulting Samuel Chiposi of the same suburb, but denied kidnapping him. Njengezana appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Musaiona Shortgame and was remanded to tomorrow for continuation of trial.
Chiposi told the court that he met Njengezana’s second wife Chenai at a local night club on August 27 where they started drinking beer together before proceeding to her house. Chenai was staying at a separate house in the same suburb, while Njengezana was staying with the first wife.

The prosecutor, Mr Norman Koropi, told the court that at around 2am the following day, Njengezana went to Chenai’s house where he wanted to collect his child.
He was accusing Chenai of leaving the child alone while she went out to pubs.

Njengezana came in the company of four other men, who are still at large, and violently knocked on the door demanding to see his son.
Chenai opened the door whereupon Njengezana and his gang entered the room and took turns to punch and kick Chiposi. They allegedly dragged him into a commuter omnibus and drove to an unknown destination where they further assaulted him.
