Man killed in brawl over mbanje twist

Two men have been arrested in Mberengwa for the suspected murder of a colleague they allegedly attacked for swallowing a twist of mbanje they were supposed to share, police have said.

In a post on X, police said they had arrested Tawedzerwa Mahole (22) and Wilfred Tshuma (20) for the suspected murder of Legejani Gumbo (23) for swallowing the twist at Fani Village on Thursday last week.

In Marondera, Tatenda Kaosa (28) was arrested for the alleged murder of his 20-year-old wife Tanaka Ndaruza over allegations of infidelity.

An attempt to evade a police checkpoint in Bulawayo led to the arrest of a man who turned out to be wanted in connection with a motor vehicle theft in April 2021.

Separately, Regobert Joseph (23) who had been on the police wanted list since allegedly committing a burglary in Mabvuku in January 2021 was also arrested in Harare.

Meanwhile, the police are hunting for a Mukuru employee, Blessed Chanetsa (23), who is reported to have gone missing on January 1 allegedly with US15 181 which was meant for disbursement to clients in Kariba. — New Ziana.
