A MAN from Guyu in Gwanda has been arrested for allegedly fatally striking his wife with a stone in full view of his father for cheating on him with a friend.
Tsoanelo Sibanda, 39, of Pumula village, allegedly lost his rag when he learnt that his wife Letshani Ndlovu was having an affair with his friend Sipho Ndlovu. Sibanda picked a stone and allegedly struck Ndlovu once on the head and on the left ear.
She died on the spot.
Sibanda appeared before Gwanda magistrate Nomagugu Ncube and was remanded in custody to June 3. The magistrate advised him to apply for bail at the High Court.
“You are facing a serious charge and are advised to apply for bail at the High Court,” said Ncube.
Prosecuting, Moses Gondogwe said on May 18 at around 8PM, a misunderstanding arose between Sibanda and his wife. Sibanda, who was accusing his wife of cheating with one of his friends, picked a stone and struck her twice.
