A KAROI man, who murdered his son, is claiming that an Angel ordered him to kill the 10-year-old boy.
Mashonaland West Acting Provincial Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector, Aggary Jaure, told H-Metro, that Kelvin Murengwa, 33, of Tengwe, murdered his son on Sunday.
The boy had been staying with Murengwa’s mother since his marriage collapsed some time ago.
“At around 7 am (on Sunday), Murengwa invited his son to his home where, upon arrival, they entered into the bedroom,” said Ass Insp Jaure.
“After a while, Murengwa opened the door and went to an unknown destination.”
Ass Insp Jaure said Murengwa’s mother then followed to her son’s home to check on her grandson.
“She opened the door and discovered the deceased juvenile lying dead on the floor facing upwards.
“She then alerted her neighbours and a report was made to ZRP Tengwe.
“During the scene attendance, police officers picked information to the effect that Murengwa was heading towards Elephant Rest Farm.
“At the police station, Murengwa confessed that he killed his son by strangling him because he was ordered to do so by an angel.”
The deceased body was taken to Karoi District Hospital for a post-mortem.
