A SHORT CUT is often a wrong cut.

This rang true for Luker Moyo (52) who was robbed at knife point and left shoeless while he was walking to town using a footpath behind Mckeurtan Primary School in Makokoba.

The incident happened on 20 December at around 08:30PM.

According to a family member who declined to be named, while Moyo was walking behind the said primary school to town, two unknown men emerged from behind a tree and ordered him to stop.

“He abruptly stopped as fear gripped him,” said the family member.

The family member said one of the men hit him with an open hand, while laughing at him for foolishly using the footpath at night.

The robbers went a gear up, grabbed him by the neck and placed a knife on his throat and ordered him to lie prostrate on the ground.

He later stood up and made a report at Mzilikazi police station.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abedinico Ncube confirmed the incident:
