An American man has been arrested after he rang the police for advice about growing marijuana.
Robert Michelson called 911 to ask how much trouble he might get in for growing the drug, reports the New York Daily News.
“I was just growing some marijuana and I was just wondering what, how much, you know, trouble you can get into for one plant,” he asked.
When the dispatcher asked if there was an active crime in progress, the 21-year-old answered “possibly”.
Police traced the call to Michelson’s home in Farmington, where police officers found drug paraphernalia and a small amount of pot.
Michelson admitted he had bought seeds and equipment online for growing.
He was released on bail.
Police say that as he left the police station, he gave dispatchers two middle fingers.
“Presumably for doing such a good job,” a police spokeman said. — orange.co.uk
