Man sentenced six years for aggravated indecent assault

A 59-YEAR-OLD Victoria Falls man has been sentenced to an effective six years in prison for inserting his fingers in the privates of a 13-year-old girl.

The man, Nervis Sibiya from Lusaba Village, appeared before the magistrate for western division, Mrs Dambudzo Malunga at Hwange for aggravated indecent assault as defined in Section 66 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9:23.

It is the State’s case as presented by the prosecutor, Mr Tawanda Sigauke, that on 5 June last year the minor was sent by her mother to ask for lemons to use in the porridge she was preparing for her children.
