Man sentenced to 6 months imprisonment for hunting Impala.

A 41-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for hunting impalas without authorisation.
On August 30, 2024, at around 7:00 pm, Game Scouts spotted Aram Sibanda and his accomplices leaving Bachelr Hills Sentinel Ranch with four impala carcasses.
IN a statement on X the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe said, the scouts apprehended one of the individuals, while the other three escaped. The total value of the poached animals is estimated at $4 000, and none of the carcasses were recovered. He was subsequently arraigned before the Beitbridge Magistrates’ Court, where he faced charges of contravening the Parks and Wildlife Act for hunting without a permit or license.
The accused person pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment. He was also ordered to pay compensation.
