adminon his own plea of guilty to a charge of public indecency when he appeared before the town’s magistrate Mr Kudakwashe Jarabini.
Mr Jarabini slapped him with a five-month prison term but set aside two months for the next five years.
When asked why he committed the crime, Gondokondo blamed his conduct on drunkenness.
In assessing appropriate sentence, Mr Jarabini said Gondokondo’s conduct was uncalled for.
“A short prison term will justify the action and it serves to remind those would-be offenders to stay away from committing such kind of crimes,” he said.
Agreed facts were that on August 12 and at around 10am, Gondokondo had a misunderstanding with his wife.
After the melee, his wife escaped to her uncle Edwell Kaseke’s residence seeking recourse.
He followed her. On arrival, Gondokondo shouted at Passmore Kadiramwando (46) the other occupant at the house. The court heard that Gondokondo accused him of interfering in his domestic affairs.
Kadiramwando calmed him and he pretended to have reasoned before he took off his pants intending to relieve himself on the floor.
Instead, he went into the house and took a pot on the stove containing food and threw the contents away.
He went to the sewage tank where he scooped the excretion, which he then smeared on three doors of other tenants.
