A 38-year-old Chitungwiza man allegedly offered a 13-year-old boy a job, paid him US$1 for his effort but later sodomised him on several occasions, the court heard.
The boy approached Nhafutari Madovi, of no fixed abode, in the satellite town sometime in July, two weeks before schools closed for the second term.
It is alleged that the minor approached Madovi for a job at Chikwanha Shopping Centre’s new market where the latter sells vests.
The court heard that Madovi agreed and promised to give the minor a dollar for his effort.
Further allegations are that Madovi asked the boy to come and stay with him at an open space near B & P College at Chi-kwanha.
The boy agreed and during the stay, Madovi allegedly gave the minor US$1 to go and buy bread.
He allegedly advised the boy to come back later at night and the minor obliged.
During the night, Madovi allegedly undressed the minor.
The court heard that Madovi then asked the boy who had awakened to kneel down and when asked what he was doing, Madovi allegedly threatened to stab the boy if he disclosed the abuse.
Madovi is alleged to have sodomised the boy on a daily basis until he was taken home by someone who picked him up while playing in Zengeza 4.
The minor disclosed his ordeal to another man who lives close to his home.
The matter was reported to the police leading to Madovi’s arrest.
Appearing before Chitungwiza regional magistrate Ms Estere Chivasa, Madovi denied the aggravated indecent assault charges.
He was remanded in custody to yesterday for trial continuation.
In his defence, Madovi told the court that he did not know the boy and that he was not a vendor but ekes a living through stone crushing. Mr Lovet Muringwa prosecuted.
