A 26-YEAR-OLD man from Bulawayo allegedly stabbed a fellow drinker on the armpit following an argument at a bar in Magwegwe suburb.
Given Ndlovu allegedly attacked Mr Aniva Simao at Seawaters Sports Bar in December last year.
Ndlovu yesterday appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Ms Tancy Dube facing a charge of assault.
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody to April 16 for trial.
Ndlovu said he did not use a knife but “accidentally” hurt Mr Simao with a bottle.
“We had an argument with Simao that degenerated into a fight but l didn’t stab him,” he said.
The prosecutor, Mrs Thembani Dube said Simao went out of the bar and met Ndlovu in a corridor.
“Ndlovu accused Simao of pushing him. The two had an argument and it degenerated into a fight.
“Ndlovu drew a knife and stabbed Simao on his right armpit,” said the prosecutor.
The court heard that Simao was ferried to hospital where he sought medical attention.
