Cr3Senior Court Reporter
A Hatcliffe man could not contain his anger and allegedly fatally stabbed a cyclist who had bumped into him with his bicycle. Bongani Mawaba (31) allegedly confronted Tendai Mapfeka after he had accidentally bumped into him. He then stabbed Mapfeka thrice on the chest and stomach.  Mawaba on Friday appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Elijah Makomo charged with murder.

He was remanded in custody to October 25. Mr Makomo advised him to apply for bail at the High court due to the gravity of the offence.
The lower court has no jurisdiction to entertain bail on such matters.

Appearing for the State, Mr Tungamirai Chakurira alleged that Mawaba had a misunderstanding with Mapfeka at Hatcliffe Open Dust Market after the latter bumped into him with a bicycle he was pushing. A fist fight broke and Mawaba took a knife from his pocket and stabbed Mapfeka.
