A 30-year-old Sunningdale man is on the run for allegedly murdering his younger brother after a row over US$50.
Emmanuel Makazi allegedly stabbed Munashe Makazi with a kitchen knife.
He died on the spot.
The tragedy was triggered by a row over a missing US$50 belonging to their brother, Malvin Makazi.
Malvin found out that his money was missing when he woke up.
He asked his brothers whether any of them had seen his money but they both said they had not seen it.
He then went to work at Mupedzanhamo Flea market, leaving his two brothers at home.
When Malvin returned from work, he again asked his brothers about his missing money.
This triggered a row between Munashe and Emmanuel.
Emmanuel threatened to kill Munashe if the missing money was found within the house.
Munashe also threatened to kill Emmanuel if that money was found within the house.
Then, tragedy struck.
“I rushed into the room and discovered that the now deceased had been stabbed on the chest with an unknown sharp object and was bleeding profusely, lying on his stomach,” said a witness.
“We summoned an ambulance to take Munashe to hospital but unfortunately the ambulance crew found out that there were no signs of life.”
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi could not be reached for comment.
However, H-Metro is reliably informed that the case is being investigated under RRB 6861432 at Braeside Police Station.
