A MAN from Victoria Falls has said he stabbed his wife in a bid to save his marriage after she sent nude pictures of her privates to her boyfriends.

Farai Mujeka (33) of 1231 Aerodrome attacked his wife Miss Susan Nyawasha (32) of 7016 Mkhosana, with a knife on Sunday.

He also bit her on her right hand after accusing her of cheating on him.

Mujeka pleaded guilty to physical abuse charges when he appeared before Victoria Falls magistrate Ms Rangarirai Gakanje yesterday.

He was convicted and remanded in custody to today for sentencing.

Mujeka said he stabbed his wife as he was trying to save his marriage.

“I wanted to safeguard my marriage. I wanted my wife to see that I’m serious about us, I’ve been telling her to stop having boyfriends but she doesn’t change,” he said.

Mujeka told the court that the couple has been apart for some time since his wife often sends nude pictures to her boyfriends.

“The police once advised us to separate after we got into a fight because she had sent pictures of her private parts to other men. We’ve been apart for some time. I was now trying to reconcile with her but she is still up to her old tricks,” he said.

Prosecuting Mr Takunda Ndovorwi said Mujeka was drunk when he committed the offence.

“On Sunday, accused who was drunk went to complainant’s place around 0200hrs and accused her of infidelity.

“He became violent, pulled out a knife and stabbed complainant on the shoulder and on her back and then bit her on the right arm thereby causing her certain injuries,” he said. — @nonsy_m
