A MAN, who allegedly killed his mother and a child following a misunderstanding over groceries in Chihota on Sunday, is on the RUN.
Blessed Gatsi, 35, allegedly strangled her mother, Rudo Ukama, 74, on the night he arrived from South Africa.
He then also allegedly violently tossed a relative Leen Gatsi, aged 3, against a wall and killed her in the process.
Gatsi fled the scene and remains at large.
National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the murders and appealed to the public for information that could lead to Gatsi’s arrest.
Commissioner Nyathi said Gatsi travelled from South Africa and arrived at the village on Sunday night with his children.
A disagreement broke out between his mother and him.
Police said Gatsi allegedly strangled his mother, then picked up another child who was in the house, and threw her against a wall.
He is now being sought by police.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms two murder cases involving a woman and a child in Chihota Village.
“The suspect, who is the biological son of the now deceased, escaped after committing the offences,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
