A MAN has appeared in court facing 17 counts of robbery.
Blessing Kadzomba, 30, appeared before Harare magistrate, Yeukai Dzuda, who remanded him in custody to October 6, pending finalisation of investigations.
The State, led by Anesu Chirenje, alleges that on March 3, Kadzomba, in the company of Shepherd Fombe and Timothy Machakaire, who are in custody, picked up a woman along Lomagundi Road, in their Toyota Wish.
Along the way, they robbed her of an HP Laptop, Samsung A52 cellphone, Itel P36 cellphone, US$250 cash and $700 before dumping her along Marlborough Drive.
On April 1, Kadzomba and his two accomplices, picked up another woman and took her Alcatel tablet, and a brown wallet from her handbag, before shoving her out of the car.
On the same day, along Mukuvisi Woodlands and Sunningdale Road, the three robbed Mispah Chitiki of R1 200 cash, after offering him a lift.
On February 1, they robbed Linda Madhumera of an Itel P36 and US$33 along Prince Edward using the same method.
On January 2, Kadzomba robbed Law Shumbawamedza of $15 000 at the Mbudzi roundabout.
On December 30 last year, at Irvine’s along Chitungwiza Road, Kadzomba and his accomplices robbed Austin Mutsererwa of an A56 cellphone and $18 000 cash.
It is the State’s case that Kadzomba and his accomplices used the same method to commit 11 more such robberies.
