LONDON. — According to reports, Manchester United are willin’ to make an “irresistible offer” to Barcelona to sign former Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.
The Denmark international established himself as an important player under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea and he helped them win the Champions League at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
His form for Chelsea earned him a move to Barcelona during last summer’s transfer window. He joined the Spanish giants on a free transfer after his contract at the Premier League club expired.
The 27-year-old has been restricted to just 17 starts in La Liga this season due to his injury issues and he is already being linked with a move elsewhere.
Man Utd are understood to be in the market for a new defender with it looking likely that Harry Maguire will leave the club in the summer. Fichajes are reporting that they are interested in bringing Christensen back to the Premier League.
Christensen has been put on the table by Erik ten Hag and Man Utd are willing to make an “irresistible offer”. They are reportedly able to pay up to 70 million euros’for the defender.
Barcelona will be forced to sell some key players this summer due to their delicate financial situation. Man Utd are prepared to take advantage, with Christensen being a possible sale.
