TRIANGLE United coach and Dynamos legend David Mandigora has ruled himself out of the race for the vacant DeMbare coaching job. The post was left vacant following the sacking of controversial Portuguese coach Paulo Jorge Silva last week after a stormy five month relationship with the Harare giants. Silva was replaced by assistant coach Lloyd Mutasa in the interim, as the club head hunts for a permanent replacement.
“No, no, no! I’m employed by Triangle United and I’ve a job to do here. My total concentration is at Triangle United and I’m not thinking about the Dynamos job,” said Mandigora when asked if he would consider returning ‘home’ if the DeMbare leadership was to approach him with a good offer.
Mandigora suffered the same fate as Silva when he was fired only seven months into his job at Dynamos. He was replaced by his assistant Tonderayi Ndiraya. Mandigora had taken over from Callisto Pasuwa, who had won four back-to-back league titles with Dynamos before falling out with the club’s powerful hierarchy.
While Mutasa is in an acting capacity, indications are that he might be confirmed if he turns around the fortunes of the club, which is presently in an unfamiliar position on the league table.
If he fails, sources say, the club might be forced to look outside its “family” as it had shown by approaching Rahman Gumbo before he opted for champions Chicken Inn.
