Mandizha fails probation

Herald Reporter
HARARE City Council finance director Mr Justin Mandizha, has reportedly failed his probation and is set to end his eight-month stint with the local authority.

It is understood that he failed to meet contractual agreements set by the local authority.

Harare Mayor Councillor Bernard Manyenyeni has come under fire for nepotism after he allegedly influenced the appointment of his uncle, Mr Mandizha.

Clr Manyenyeni is understood to have instructed directors to come up with a position on Mr Mandizha whose continued probation is illegal.

Council sources told The Herald last week that a report on Mr Mandizha’s probation had already been prepared but city directors were afraid of ruffling Clr Manyenyeni’s feathers.

“Mr Mandizha failed his probation according to the report. When he was offered the job, he was given certain targets which he failed to meet,” said the source.
