DYNAMOS coach Genesis Mangombe and Simba Bhora striker Tinashe Balakasi have won the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League coach and player of the month respectively.

The two have been some of the most outstanding personnel in the league trenches for the month of October

Mangombe has dramatically turned the fortunes of Dynamos, who are now back in the hunt for the Premiership and Chibuku Super Cup double.  He led the Glamour Boys to three wins and a draw and came to within eight points of leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars.

The former Yadah gaffer has also driven DeMbare to the Chibuku Super Cup final where they will face Ngezi Platinum on December 3.

He was facing stiff competition though from Herentals’ Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva who picked the same number of points and even had a better goal difference.

Takesure Chiragwi of Ngezi Platinum, who has won the award four times this season was also in the mix having picked the same number of points.

Mangombe was happy to win the award for the first time in his coaching career.

“I am very humbled to have won this award in a league with so many good caoches,” said Mangombe.

“It is something that I really cherish and will help me to work even harder”.

Meanwhile, Balakasi who also won this award for the first time in his career is on cloud nine.  The lanky Simba Bhora forward netted five goals in October to take his tally to nine, just two behind leading scorer Obriel Chirinda has been one of the most outstanding players in the league this season.  He is already being tipped to be one of the soccer stars this term.

Tinashe Balakasi

“I am very happy to have won this award especially given where I am coming from,” said Balakasi.
