Zimbabwean authorities have launched a manhunt for Mxolisi Tsabedze, a Swaziland national wanted in connection with exposing corruption and fraud in the supply of medication in Swaziland.
According to a government official, Tsabedze, the former vice secretary of the Swaziland Health Institutions and Allied Workers Union, revealed a syndicate involving Central Medical Stores, Cerium Group, and Swazipharm, which allegedly procured ready-to-expire medication for government hospitals.
Tsabedze, who worked at RFM Hospital in Swaziland, claimed that the companies were involved in a corrupt scheme to supply expired medication to government hospitals. However, the companies have denied the allegations and reported Tsabedze for spreading falsehoods.
The official said, “Tsabedze’s crimes emanate from his expose of the syndicate, which led to him being targeted by those implicated. He is now suspected to have fled to Zimbabwe after making the allegations.”
Zimbabwean authorities are working closely with their Swaziland counterparts to locate and extradite Tsabedze, who is wanted for questioning in connection with the allegations.
The official added, “We are committed to ensuring that justice is served, and those who have committed crimes are held accountable. We will do everything in our power to assist in bringing Tsabedze to justice.”
