Tendai Gukutikwa Manicaland Bureau
ZANU PF Women’s League Secretary for Administration Cde Monica Mutsvangwa has urged the league’s leadership in Manicaland to remain united, transparent and accountable as they campaign for the party, ahead of the 2023 elections. Speaking during consecutive Women’s League Inter-district meetings held in Nyanga and Mutasa yesterday, Cde Mutsvangwa urged women to ensure Zanu PF achieves a landslide victory.
“With your kind of leadership, we will surely garner more that five million votes during next year’s elections.
“I commend you for being this united. Keep encouraging people to register to vote and vote for the right candidate.
“As party leadership, you are accountable to the party and therefore should be transparent in whatever you do. Remain transparent and shun factionalism,” she said.
Cde Mutsvangwa called on the women to get into communities telling people about the developments being spearheaded by President Mnangagwa since 2017.
She said a lot of infrastructural developments were underway in the province, and the country at large.
“Roads that had been destroyed by Cyclone Idai were immediately restored through his able leadership. State of the art clinics and schools are being built and solar power systems are being installed under the leadership of President Mnangagwa.
“To bridge the ICT gaps that stood between school going children in rural and urban areas, he equipped rural schools with ICT equipment that like computers. All that and many more developments happened in the few years that President Mnangagwa has been in power.
”We never had such achievements before the Second Republic came into office. He has achieved so much more in a few years. Go, therefore, and open the eyes of the people in your respective areas so that they know who to vote for come next year’s harmonised elections,” said Cde Mutsvangwa. She said President Mnangagwa has the people at heart and will not bend to the Western countries and their allies who want a puppet Government in Zimbabwe.
“They want a puppet Government but they will not get that in Zimbabwe. President Mnangagwa will not be used as a puppet because he knows that the Zimbabwean land and resources belong to the people of Zimbabwe. Sanctions or no sanctions, our President will keep on with his re-engagement and engagement efforts. You should not be left behind, join in on the country’s development journey because like the President always says a country is built by its own people,” she said.
Addressing the same gatherings, Manicaland Women’s League chairperson, Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa urged the women to keep their promise of delivering a resounding victory for Zanu-PF.
Cde Mutsvangwa donated maize seed, wheelchairs, walking sticks, fertilisers and groceries to the women.
Nyanga North Constituency legislator, Cde Chido Sanyatwe assured Cde Mutsvangwa that the district fully endorses President Mnangagwa as the party’s leader.
“Please deliver our message to the President that Nyanga will always support him and that it will be evidenced come 2023 elections,” she said.
