According to the 2022 second half Zimbabwe All Media Product Survey (ZAMPS) survey, The Manica Post has 10 percent of the country’s market share.
The survey showed that 13 percent of the adult population read weekly newspapers, while 23 percent read daily newspapers.
The survey also showed that most readers read The Manica Post’s local news (23 percent), followed by entertainment news (20 percent), headline stories (16 percent), sports (14 percent), regional news (11 percent) and business (six percent).
Eighty-three percent of the readers read the physical paper of The Manica Post, while 13 percent read it online and four percent through WhatsApp.
The Manica Post Editor, Mrs Wendy Nyakurerwa-Matinde thanked the publication’s readers and advertisers for the continued support.
“This is an indication that the readers and advertisers are behind us 100 percent, which is really encouraging. We pledge to continue delivering captivating news,” she said.
ZAMPS surveys are conducted by the Zimbabwe Advertising Research Foundation (ZARF).
The foundation’s mandate includes commissioning research on behalf of advertisers, the media, publishers, advertising agencies and public relations consultancies.
The surveys have been ongoing since 1997.
