Manyowa celebrates 10 years in industry at ANOT

Gospel sensation Janet Manyowa gave her fans a performance never seen before in her 10 years in the industry on New Year at her yearly concert dubbed “A Night of Thanksgiving” (ANOT).

With fans having a smooth entrance into the HICC in no time the auditorium was full, no seat was left unattended.

Some of the high-profile artistes who performed include Pastor G, Tembalami, Bethan Pasinawako, Tariro Negitare, The Unveiled, Joyful Praise, South African gospel artistes Bishop Benjamin Dube and Khaya Mthethwa. The tickets for the show were sold out and on the day the house was full.

The event saw Star FM radio personality Nicola Dora affectionately known as Nikki in the stars who shocked fans with her quick wardrobe change in amazing outfits, and award-winning musician and broadcaster of South Africa Loyiso Bala as masters of ceremony.

Taking to the stage welcoming the fans as the first act was Zimbabwean talent, home-grown and proud saxophone instrumentalist Denilson Musekiwa who wowed the crowd as he put up a scintillating performance with his saxophone leaving them craving for more of his melodious tune.

The high live event kept everyone dancing and singing each time according to the line-up, an artistes was on stage Tariro Negitare dished out her mesmerizing tune “Mazuva Haafanane,” leaving the crowd glued to the beat of the song.

Pastor G had his share on the cake as he wowed the crowd with songs from his album, “Victory 1911,” Pastor G warmed the stage for the two South African singers Benjamin Dube and Khaya Mthethwa who left the house on fire with their Holy Spirit-filled tunes.

The crowd could not control themselves, screaming ululating and shouting as the South African singers performed Benjamin performed, “He Keeps on Doing,” “Ngiyakuthanda” and others, while Khaya performed “Settle for Less,” “O Msindisi” and “Ongiholayo,”

They both managed to sail though their pace flawlessly.

Though she performed a bit late the crowd could not help it as they screamed for Janet Manyowa who battled out tunes from her album, “Father’s House,” “Nenyasha” and “Wakakosha.”

She wowed the crowd by playing the guitar which was such an exquisite rendition.

Suddenly she disappeared on stage and came back in another attire, little did the crowd know it was a stunt to collaborate with Loyiso, Tembalami, Bethan, and Khaya separately which led the crowd in jovial mood.

With Loyiso she performed “Thank you Lord,” while with Tembalami she dished out “Strong Tower.”

Janet and Bethan performed “Ndinzvereiwo,” as she was also joined on stage with Khaya “Makakodzera” with the whole auditorium singing along.

She later sang “Vaudze” leaving the crowd in awe.

In an interview with The Herald Arts, lady of the moment Janet, said she was shocked and excited at the same time.

“I’m grateful that ANOT was a bigger step of faith in terms of hosting the event bigger and more effort in our set, people came out in their numbers.”
