Mapeza rages after defeat

FC PLATINUM’S first home defeat in over two years left coach Norman Mapeza seething with anger after the log leaders fell 2-1 to ZPC Kariba at Mandava on Saturday. Mapeza exploded after being asked about the whereabouts of his frozen stars whose big moves to Mandava has turned into a nightmare.

The FC Platinum gaffer was incensed by his team’s weaknesses that were exposed by ZPC Kariba who, interestingly, were the last team to beat them in June 2016 at Mandava by a similar scoreline.

The defending champions were, however, consoled by retaining their six-point advantage at the top following their closest rivals Ngezi Platinum Stars’ loss to Herentals.

Mapeza’s men were poor at the back in the absence of regular central defender Kelvin Moyo who is away on trials at South African Premiership giants SuperSport United.

The coach chose to bench former Warriors central defender Lawrence Mhlanga. Last week, FC Platinum confirmed that Dynamos wrote to them requesting loan deals for stars Brett Amidu and Farai Mupasiri.

“Where did you get that information (about Amidu, Mupasiri proposed loan moves), who told you that, those who told you should answer you on that one,” said Mapeza.
“I cannot answer that one because I never saw it.

“I can only answer about something which I have on my hands and, for that one, the person who told you about those transfers is in a position to tell you.
