AFRO-FUSION songstress Cynthia Mare has released a video of her gospel track Pfugama unamate which she said is a dedication to her late mother who taught her to pray always.
The music video, off the album Songs My mother Loved is Mare’s third video after Zuva Rimwe and Hatina musha panyika. Less than a week after its release, the video is making waves on social media sites such as YouTube and Facebook with Mare also sharing to friends and fans through WhatsApp.

The track is an uplifting gospel song that encourages people to pray. The video portrays the power of prayer to solve the hardships people face in life.
In an interview yesterday, Mare said the message behind the video was to teach people of faith to strengthen their prayer life.

“When I was growing up my mother used to tell me that I should always pray for my life. In this music video, I wanted to show people that they should take their prayer life seriously,” she said.

Mare who is fresh from a live recording of her DVD album songs My Mother Loved at the Rainbow Cinemas in Harare said the video was shot at three different places.
Mare recorded one of the scenes on a strip road with potholes as she was trying to depict the hardships that people face in life.

“In the music video I will be singing while walking on a road that has potholes. The potholes mean that everyone in life will pass through a difficult time with many obstacles and hardships. The only solution is to kneel and pray to God and seek his intervention,” she said.

The songstress said she had sent the video to ZBCtv for possible airplay on one of the channel’s music shows.
She is now working on two other videos for more tracks off her Zuva Rimwe album.

“For the song Ndoda Mwari, my vision is to have a grand piano in the middle of nowhere surrounded by the beautiful nature that our country has. So the idea is still in my head and we are looking into the logistics,” she said.
