WARRIORS coach Mario Marinica believes players for the national team must earn their place in the team.

He was speaking after his first training with Warriors in Saudi Arabi, ahead of the international friendly matches against Algeria and Qatar.

The Warriors first face Algeria on Thursday.

Marinica, newly appointed, is under pressure to change things for the Warriors ahead of the AFCON finals in Morocco in December.

“You have to be very thorough and give everything, you have to come with your heart in it. When you are playing for the national team, you are representing the country at the end of the day,” said the coach.

In the past crictics have highlighted that players doing well at their respective leagues have not been given a chance.

Mario promises to be fair.

“No one will give you a favour and you have to deserve to be there… If you give 100 percent on the pitch, people will appreciate that,” he said.
