Marondera-Murewa road accident claims two lives

Two people died while six others were injured in a road traffic accident which occurred on the 23-kilometre peg along the Marondera-Murewa road this afternoon.

Reports are that the driver of a Mazda BT50 vehicle heading towards Marondera lost control of the vehicle, hit a pedestrian who was standing on the side of the road before it veered off the road and overturned.

It is reported that as a result, the pedestrian and one of the passengers in the Mazda BT50 died on sport.

Reports are that the driver, who is reported to be Chief Mukota of Mudzi is among the injured.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the accident and said more details will be released soon.
