HARARE Regional Magistrate Mr Musaiona Shortgame has acquitted Mary Mubaiwa on charges of attempting to kill Vice President Constantino Chiwenga by unplugging his life support system while he was admitted to a South African hospital.
This follows a State application to have the trial postponed to November 25 to allow the prosecution time to engage witnesses.
In his ruling, Mr Shortgame said Mubaiwa suffered mental, physical and financial prejudice during the trial, which was now in its seventh year.
