Local authorities in Mashonaland West Province are working tirelessly to finalise their masterplans against benchmarks set by President Mnangagwa to help local authorities improve service delivery.

So far, all the 14 local authorities in the province have finalised their masterplans while eight have gone further to meet the deadline to produce valuation roles.

The remaining councils are in the process of finalising valuation rolls.

Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo told council representatives that the implementation of roadmaps is the only way to register progress.

“We must bear in mind that what is not planned for will not be executed and what is planned for but not executed will not be achieved,” said Minister Chombo.

Local authorities, she said, should work hard, value honesty, and shun corruption to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth for the province.
