YOUTHS in Mashonaland West province have received their share of equipment that President Mnangagwa donated to all the country’s 10 provinces under the US$2 million Presidential Youth Empowerment Revolving Fund.
The fund is meant to enable the youth to undertake income-generating projects.
The equipment was handed over to the youths by Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa, at the provincial party offices in Chinhoyi.
Cde Mutsvangwa challenged the youths to use the equipment to transform their lives according to President Mnangagwa’s aspirations and vision.
“We are edging close to attaining Vision 2030 and with this equipment, you are supposed to play your part in pushing the agenda,” he said.
He said the youths should deliberate on business models that intend to use the equipment to generate income.
Zanu PF Mashonaland West youth chairperson, Cde Tapiwa Masenda, applauded President Mnangagwa for the equipment.
“The President warned us against misusing the equipment,” he said.
Cde Masenda said the equipment, which includes trucks and a front-end loader, will be handy in developing the land that they have secured.
“We have successfully secured 180 hectares of land in Norton for residential stands under the Munhumutapa Housing Scheme,” said Cde Masenda.
Apart from securing land in Sanyati, Hurungwe and Mhondoro-Ngezi districts, he said the youth league is still to secure pieces of land in Makonde, Zvimba and Kariba.
