ZIMBABWEAN martial artist Wilfred Mashaya had an outstanding show, scooping four medals at the International Combat Organisation (ICO) Scottish Open Martial Arts tournament in Scotland over the weekend.

Mashaya, competing at the Scottish Open for the first time, emerged top in the traditional weapons, freestyle weapons, creative weapons and musical weapons categories and walked away with four gold medals.

The tournament, held at the Easterhouse Sports Centre in Glasgow, brought together elite competitors from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Rising to the occasion, Mashaya delivered a masterclass of precision, discipline, creativity and experience, completing a clean sweep across all four categories.

“The tournament was great and I really enjoyed competing with other masters. This gave me an opportunity to rate myself and prepare for the upcoming World ICO Championships to be held in France in October,” said Mashaya.C
