The Mashonaland East Agricultural Show kicked off today in Marondera with over 100 exhibitors showcasing their wares and services.
This year’s event, which is running under the theme “Innovative Resilience: Solution to Climate Shocks”, has attracted a higher turnout compared than last year.
Mashonaland East Agricultural Show is the biggest annual event in the province.
Several artists, including Alick Macheso and various local artists, are expected to perform at the event.
Mashonaland East provincial show manager Mr Tonderai Choga said the turnout of exhibitors is impressive, adding that they are expecting more to come.
“The turnout of exhibitors is quite impressive as compared to yester-year. We have received an overwhelming response from exhibitors despite the El Nino-induced drought during the 2023-2024 summer cropping season,” he said.
When The Herald visited the showgrounds, some exhibitors were busy putting final touches to their stands.
Exhibitors said they ae optimistic that they will get a lot of business during the show.
