Mudzi, 2024-07-15- THE Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East, Senator Apolonia Munzverengwi, has officially commissioned a suite of new equipment acquired by the Mudzi Rural District Council using devolution funds.

The equipment includes a water bowser, a borehole drilling rig, a tipper truck, and a backhoe loader, which will be utilised to support rural development initiatives in the Mudzi district.

In addition to the heavy machinery, the Minister also handed over 22 motorbikes purchased by the local authority for use by councillors in their day-to-day operational duties.

The devolution funds, which are part of the Government’s broader decentralisation programme, have enabled the Mudzi Rural District Council to acquire this critical infrastructure and resources to enhance service delivery and drive economic growth in the region.

The event was attended by local government officials, community leaders, and representatives from the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works, underscoring the collaborative effort to strengthen Zimbabwe’s rural development agenda.
