Massive gigs split Bulawayo asunder

musical fiesta as the country’s best musicians take turns to entertain fans while at the other side of the city, upmarket joint, Horizon hosts an “All Black Party”.
The two gigs, both promising fireworks are amongst the top shows lined up for this year’s Christmas festivities.
The much-hyped Shutdown gig at Amphitheatre features superstar Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi, sungura ace Alick Macheso, Bulawayo’s own Jeys Marabini and Utakataka’s young prince Peter Moyo.
The historic show, which has been a preserve for the capital for the past four years, has drawn a lot of attention, with the advance tickets already selling like hot cakes at various Innscor outlets.
Fireworks are also expected at the elite Horizon where South African marathon disc jockey, Black Coffee makes a date with his local fans.
Dj Black Coffee, born Nkosinathi Maphumulo, is an internationally renowned spinner who made it into the Guinness Book of World Records after performing for 60 consecutive hours.
Promoters of both shows, Chipaz Promotions, who are promoting the Shut Down gig and 3D Events management for the All Black party, have both promised fans that they will get value for money.
Patson Chimboza of Chipaz Promotions said his show was a once in a life time gig and thus music fans should come in their numbers to enjoy music from the country’s best musicians.
“I urge Bulawayo music lovers to come in their numbers to enjoy themselves and I am confident that the artistes will deliver their best,” said Chipaz.
3D Events Management director, Mduduzi Mdlongwa assured fans that Coffee was coming to give his best.
“I assure fans that it would be indeed a night to remember as Coffee has already guaranteed us that he would play for more than two hours complemented by local DJs,” said Mdlongwa.
For the Shutdown gig fans will fork out $10 while those going to Horizon will pay $20 for ordinary ticket and $40 for a VIP seat.
