Celebration of the Great Zimbabwe monuments, quality music and mental wellness will take centre stage at this year’s Lake October Music Festival.
Powered by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) and other stakeholders, the main festivities are set to take place at the Caravan Park in Masvingo this weekend.

Festival-goers can expect a vibrant blend of music, food, a marathon and aerobics as part of the cultural festivities. Music will be the heart of the two-day event, with Zimdancehall star Freeman, Chillspot Family led by DJ Fantan and Trevor Dongo headlining the performances today.

Tapiwa “DJ Maestro” Godi, the event co-ordinator, explained that the festival goes beyond music, celebrating Masvingo as a premier tourism destination.
“This event is not just about music but a full celebration of what Masvingo has to offer in terms of tourism and hospitality,” said DJ Maestro.

“We have several activities planned, including a marathon, golf and soccer tournaments. These activities are designed to highlight Masvingo’s potential as a major tourism hub in Zimbabwe.”

“Masvingo residents are eagerly awaiting this year’s festival, now in its fourth edition. It’s encouraging to see locals valuing the initiatives we are putting in place to promote the city. Fans from across the country are also reaching out for inquiries, which is a great sign,” he added.

Masvingo, the ancient city known for its hospitality, continues to draw both local and international tourists, further solidifying its place as a key destination in Zimbabwe.
