Masvingo holds two-day business dialogue

The business community in Masvingo recently got together for a two-day business dialogue meeting to unlock the province’s investment potential and speed up the growth of its gross domestic product.
Representatives from the business community, captains of industry, media, academia, and the provincial leadership, led by Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution Ezra Chadzamira, attended the meeting that was organised by the National Economic Consultative Forum.

Permanent Secretary for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Dr Addmore Pazvakavambwa said the business dialogue was the tonic needed for Masvingo to achieve its full economic potential.

Dr Pazvakavambwa said resolutions from the dialogue will influence the direction taken by the province in the mining, tourism and agriculture sectors.

“‘We have the advantage of being home to about 54 percent of the country’s dammed water, which can be used for irrigation. This can transform Masvingo into a greenbelt,” he said.

Masvingo North legislator, Honourable Brian Mudumi said the business dialogue put the spotlight on sectors that can bring about socio-economic transformation and help Zimbabwe attain Vision 2030.
