THE Zanu-PF Matabeleland North Provincial Co-ordinating Committee (PCC) is set to meet today to prepare for the Presidential Youth Interface rally set for Friday at Somhlolo Stadium in Lupane.

The party’s provincial chairman, Cde Richard Moyo, said the meeting would also be attended by civil servants from all government departments.

“People are geared up for the rally and we were only waiting for the date which has been communicated now. Tomorrow (today) we will be having a PCC meeting that will also be attended by all government departments, committees and other stakeholders as we want to get updates on all preparations for the rally,” said Cde Moyo.

Zanu-PF Matabeleland North provincial Youth League chairman Cde Mbongeni Dube said all districts were ready for the rally.

He said the Youth League is busy around districts mobilising people and resources.

“We hope to get reports from every district on what has been mobilised to date but what I can say now is that everything is on course. We will be continuing in districts to check on progress as we move towards the new date,” said Cde Dube.

The rally was initially pencilled for July 14 but was postponed as President Mugabe had other commitments.

Zanu-PF National Secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde Kudzayi Chipanga, on Sunday said the rally would now be held on Friday.

Matabeleland North estimates that 70 000 people will attend the rally.
