Mat North Women’s League official dies

ZANU-PF Women’s League Matabeleland North provincial secretary for health Cde Elizabeth Ndlovu (59) has died.

The provincial political commissar Cde Grace Dube said the death of Cde Ndlovu was a great loss for the Women’s League and the party large.”

She said Cde Ndlovu had been ill for almost two years and she passed away at a private hospital in Bulawayo on Thursday.  The late Cde Ndlovu was born on August 8 in 1958.

Cde Dube said Cde Ndlovu was a war collaborator in the 1970s working with PF-Zapu in Jambesi.

“Cde Elizabeth Ndlovu was at the forefront as a collaborator and helped with activities especially during the Busuma-Ndlovu battles in 1975-6,” said Cde Dube.

She said the province had requested the party to declare Cde Ndlovu a liberation war heroine.

Cde Dube said the burial place has not yet been decided.

“As the party, we’d like to have her buried at the provincial heroes’ acre, but the family will have the final say,” said Cde Dube.

Mourners are gathered at the deceased’s house in Chinotimba suburb, Victoria Falls.
