Matebeleland North youth league warns factionalists

ZANU-PF Matabeleland North youth league has warned its members against being involved in factional politics and disrespecting party officials.

In a statement yesterday the acting provincial youth chairman Cde Wellington Tagarira said those found guilty of fanning factionalism would be fired.

He said this is evidenced by the decision by the politburo to fire the former provincial chairman Tamuka Nyoni who was fanning factionalism.

“We sincerely distance ourselves from him and all that he did and said against the First Family. He did this by himself, we have absolutely nothing to do with his statements and behaviour,” said Cde Tagarira.

He said those who promote factionalism will follow Nyoni.

“May I also take this chance to warn the youth from our province that whoever disrespects any of our Zanu-PF leaders especially the First Family, practices factionalism, improper communication and other means of misbehaviour would be dealt with accordingly,” said Cde Tagarira.

He said the province was fully behind the decision by the politburo to fire rowdy youth from the party.

He said the youth league in Matabeleland North does not work with renegades.

“We as Zanu-PF youths from Matabeleland North province support the decision made by the politburo to expel former Zanu-PF chairpersons from the party,” he said.

Nyoni was fired with six other youth provincial chairpersons Godfrey Tsenengamu Mashonaland Central, Godwin Gomwe (Harare), Vengai Musengi (Mashonaland West), Washington Nkomo (Matabeleland South), Khumbulani Mpofu and Edmore Samambwa from Midlands.
