Matabeleland North’s women’s football enters second week

THE ZIFA Matabeleland North Women’s League enters its second week, with Chapungu Queens hoping to pick up from where they left from their last match.

Chapungu play Aardvark, who drew their first match against Shumba Star, and they will hope that their home advantage will propel them to a second consecutive win.

Eagles, the team which managed to score the second highest number of goals, after Chapungu, having managed to put two past Nembila in a 2-1 win and they will also hope to get another positive result against Springboks away at Gwayi.

Besides the Eagles and Chapungu games last week, other matches failed to produce more than one goal with Nechilibi Queens and Young Sables both winning their games 1-0 against Gwayi and Ilanda, respectively.

Week Two fixtures

Saturday July 1: Antelopes vs YSSA; Chapungu vs Aardvark

Sunday July 2: Springboks vs Eagles; Nembila vs Indian Myners

* Kick-off for all the matches is at 10am
