Matabeleland North Agricultural Show starts in Hwange

THE Matabeleland North Agricultural Show has started in Hwange and all exhibitors are expected to take part in the National Clean-up Exercise at the Hwange Showgrounds in Number 2 on Friday.

Close to 100 small and big exhibitors took up space and are showcasing at the annual show being held at the Hwange Showgrounds in Number 2.

It will run until Saturday.  The theme for this year’s edition is: “Leveraging on our natural resources towards Vision 2030.”

In a statement, Whange Show Society, organisers of the show said all exhibitors will join Hwange District for the National Clean up Exercise at the showgrounds on Friday.

Among exhibitors are Ministry of Information,  Media and Broadcasting Services which is exhibiting for the first time to allow exhibitors and executives time to interact and share ideas.

Matabeleland North provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Richard Moyo will be the guest of honour at the official opening and closing ceremony on Saturday.

There is lots of entertainment lined up for the official opening ceremony, including music, poetry from local artists and mass display from Lwendulu Primary School.

The Matabeleland North Agricultural Show is one of the country’s leading annual provincial premium exhibitions.

The exhibition started in 1950, then known as Wankie Show Society before rebranding into a provincial show in 2019, taking the name Matabeleland North Agricultural Show, and is affiliated to the National Association for the Agricultural Show Societies Zimbabwe.

It brings together diverse audiences and businesses giving a ready potential market for any product and service in the country and beyond.

The expo complements the Government devolution and decentralisation agenda in the Second Republic mantra of leaving no one and no place behind, and also promotes the Matabeleland North Provincial Development Policy Strategy which feeds into the National Agenda.
